Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and functions.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Perform query performance tuning and indexing strategies to improve system efficiency.
• Work closely with application developers to support data modeling and API integrations.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and access control using roles and permissions.
• Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance, locking, and replication issues.
• Support database migrations, version upgrades, and schema changes across environments.
• Document database designs and contribute to best practices and standards.
• Participate in code reviews and support Agile delivery processes.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, and functions.
• Solid understanding of database design, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with performance tuning, EXPLAIN plans, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of backup/recovery tools, replication, and high-availability concepts.
• Experience working with Linux-based systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with ORMs and backend integration (Python/Django, Java, Node.js, etc.) is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud-managed PostgreSQL services (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, GCP) is an advantage.
